Photo specifications

Rules

• Expression: Neutral, mouth closed. No smiling.
• Glasses: Not allowed. Remove all eyewear before taking your photo.
• Eyes: Both eyes must be open and clearly visible.
• Ears: Should be visible where possible.
• Head coverings: Religious head coverings (kippah, tichel, hijab) are allowed. Face must be fully visible from forehead to chin. Non-religious head coverings are not permitted.
• Background: Plain white. No patterns, shadows, or other people.
• Lighting: Even, no shadows on face or background.
• Recency: Taken within the last 6 months.

Common rejection reasons

• Wearing glasses in the photo
• Shadows on face or background
• Head tilted or not facing camera directly
• Background is not plain white
• Face partially obscured by head covering
