Important: Turkey uses a 5 x 6 cm photo format, which is larger than the ICAO standard 35 x 45 mm. The e-Visa does not require a photo, but consulate visa applications and residence permit applications do.
Rules
- Expression: Neutral. Mouth closed, no smile.
- Glasses: Not allowed.
- Eyes: Both eyes must be open and clearly visible.
- Forehead: Should be visible. No hair or covering obscuring it.
- Head coverings: Allowed for religious reasons. Face must be fully visible from forehead to chin.
- Background: Plain white. No patterns, shadows, or other objects.
- Lighting: Even, no shadows on face or background. No red eye.
- Recency: Taken within the last 6 months.

- Wrong photo size (using 35x45mm instead of 50x60mm)
- Shadows on face or behind head
- Wearing glasses
